Sauerkraut Workshop

Discover the secret of homemade sauerkraut - a fermented food that's great for your gut, with a flavour that is a world away from the stuff you buy in the shops.

This hands-on demonstrations will cover the different equipment and methods that can be used to make sauerkraut, as well ingredients used. All participants will take home jar of sauerkraut.

Create your own macramé pot hanger to take home.

Macrame is the art of knotting string in patterns to make decorative articles. All materials supplied. Great for beginners.

DIY Crochet Dishcloth

Cotton dishcloths are a durable, environmentally friendly alternative to plastic-based microfibre cloths. Learn how to create absorbent, super scrubby dishcloths using cotton yarn that are quick and easy to make. Session will also look at adapting patterns to make items such as make-up removal pads.

Ceramic Christmas Workshop

Create your own ceramic Christmas ornaments in this fun hands-on two-part workshop. Make your own personalised ornaments to keep or make to gift for Christmas. Two sessions: a making session and a decorating session.

Learn how to create shapes, add texture, and decorate with glaze. Make 10 to 12 ornaments.

Dehydrating Fruits & Vegetables Demonstration

Our tutor will take you through the methods and preparation needed to successfully dry your own fruit at home using your oven or a dehydrator. Session will look at how to dehydrate a variety of fruits, as well as how to make home-made fruit leather.

Kokedama Workshop

Make your own hanging kokedama (mossy ball in Japanese).  A great way to create a hanging garden without the plastic pots. Hands on workshop – bring your own gardening gloves if preferred. Bookings required.

Pyrography — Wood Burning Workshop

An introduction to wood burning or Pyrography.

Learn to create designs using a pyrography soldering iron to make coasters and place mats. Session will look at the processes of burning, staining and oiling to produce beautiful designs on wood.

Rag Rugs Workshop

Recycle old clothes or fabric into a fantastic braided rag rug. In this workshop you will learn how to braid your own unique floor covering that can be made to fit a small or large space.

Bring along a selection of fabric in a couple of complementary colours – non-stretchy fabrics such as cotton sheets, shirts or pillowcases are ideal.
